Location

Despite plans to expand their corporate office and build a new gym in the Denver area, the Brooklyn Boulders are still deciding on a location for their first location. Co-founder Lance Pinn said Monday that a Denver location is unlikely this year. In addition, the company is considering a move to RiNo, where rival Movement Climbing + Fitness has a new gym planned. However, Pinn declined to comment on the matter on the record.

In response to the BKB Collective’s allegations, a group of 90 employees wrote an open letter to management about the toxicity of the organization’s culture. The group also called for a majority turnover of the executive leadership team, increased investment in Black communities, and an end to at-will employment.

Pandemic at Brooklyn Boulders

After allegations of harassment and discrimination, the CEO of Brooklyn Boulders has apologized to both gym members and staff. The apology addresses the company’s lack of diversity and inclusivity policies, as well as the controversial Instagram post about Black Lives Matter. In the wake of the scandal, an anonymous collective of BKB employees have written a letter outlining their grievances and demands. Jeremy Balboni’s apology, however, does little to address the underlying issues at play.

Adaptive Climbing Group spin-off
