Do Level 2 Electricians Repair Solar Systems

Installation and upgrades for commercial electrical systems

Level 2 electricians are fully certified for installation and upgrades of commercial electrical systems. They are equipped to install your solar system in your home or business. By having solar panels installed, not only will you be able to successfully save power, you will also be doing your part helping take care of the environment. Here is some information on how solar panels work and the maintenance required for them

Safe, Reliable, Qualified and Local

Most people rely on safe, reliable, local installers. So, if you want a career in installing solar panels there are some requirements. Not every state is the same with their requirements so make sure you take the time to look into what your state requires. You must be at least 18 years old to become an installer. Most states allow solar panel installers to work without a license, but there are some exceptions. Your state may also not require a formal degree, and some allow installers to work with a high school diploma or GED. As there is no legal requirement to earn a degree, if you don’t plan on furthering your education, you are required to have active learning skills, critical thinking, comprehension, language, some building and construction knowledge. Even though most states don’t require you to have a degree to become a solar panel installer, companies like Impact Electrical on the Central Coast will be required to take some sort of training program before they decide to hire you.

How Do Solar Panels Work

Solar panels are installed to absorb sunlight which then turns into electricity. There are cells called photovoltaic cells. These cells absorb energy directly from the sun. That energy then gets transformed into direct correct (DC) energy, this energy can’t be used in your home. Then there is the energy that gets converted into alternating current (AC). AC energy is used to power all of your home appliances, lights, etc. If the solar panels create more energy than what you use in your home, the rest can feed energy to the electrical grid

You Are Connected To The Grid

The electrical grid is usually where you get your main source of power from if you don’t have solar panels. The grid is able to efficiently measure the energy that is being used daily in your home. Any of the extra power you don’t use will then be sent off to the grid. The grid is also able to measure how much energy is produced and how much you access.

Cleaning And Maintaining Your Solar Panels

It’s important to have your panels functioning properly, it’s recommended to wash your panels 1 to 2 times a year. You don’t have to do much to clean them, just a simple soft washcloth and some water. Using any cleaning chemicals and rough scrubbing brushes can actually cause serious damage to your panels. The dirtier your solar panels are, the harder it will be for the sun to be absorbed. If your panels have any leaves or snow on them you’ll want to remove it as soon as you can.
