A quick guide for people who are visiting Qatar

What do we know about Qatar?

This is one of the smallest and, at the same time, the world’s wealthiest countries. It’s hard to believe that 30 years ago, it was just a desert.

The population is approximately two million.

How much area does it cover?

Qatar is located on a peninsula in the Persian Gulf; it encompasses 11 and a half thousand square kilometres.

We will talk about the beautiful Doha today. It boasts a skyline of skyscrapers, an artificial island called The Pearl-Qatar and the fact that the 2022 FIFA world cup will be held here.

Stereotypes will kill you one day.

There is a stereotype that everything is crazy here; many rich people go out every second riding in a Ferrari – indeed a luxury car. The craziness doesn’t just stop there. Apart from Ferrari’s and Bugatti’s, owning a villa or a yacht is not uncommon.

But that’s just it, it’s only a stereotype. We stayed in Doha for a week, and spotting Ferraris was a little more complicated than I thought.

Let’s talk a little about Qatar’s features from an insider’s perspective.

Legal

Qatar is an absolute monarchy. According to the constitution of Qatar, sharia is the primary source of the legislation of the country. As it happens, the testimony of a woman in court has half the weight of male testimony.

Dress code

If you are in Qatar, we encourage tourists to dress more modestly; it is recommended that the shoulders and knees are covered.

Alcohol

With banned alcohol, you can not buy liquor from the streets or the market, duh.

However, you can find alcohol in four or five-star hotel bars, for example, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel.

Attractions

The Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel was one of the first significant buildings we saw, and believe me when I say this – Doha’s business district looks like Katy Perry’s song ET came to life. Very futuristic and modern.

Best of all – it’s visible from the water from the main promenade cornish. It stretches for seven kilometres along crescent-shaped bays. It is the best place for hiking and jogging.

You can also rent a house here or rent a car here.

Qatari fishing boats among skyscrapers is a combination you don’t see very often.

What about the roads, cars, and traffic?

Basically, everything is designed for motorists; all drive either their own car or by taxi.

Pedestrians are not a priority. To cross sometimes, you have to stand at a traffic light stand for 10 minutes.

In the evening, we even got a motorcade when the whole stream was stopped.

At the end of the nineteenth or rather the beginning of the twentieth century, Qatar was part of the Ottoman Empire, which was later under Great Britain’s protectorate and could even be part of the future UAE but did not want to unite.

Historical facts and background

In 1971, Qatar proclaimed its own independence. 40 years ago, Qatar’s primary resources were acquired by the sea. People were engaged in the extraction of fish and pearls. Today the oil and gas industry provides 55 per cent of the country’s GDP.

Proven: Qatar is a leader in liquefied natural gas production is the highest per capita income in the world by purchasing power parity and ranking 5 in the world at nominal GDP.

Whoever is interested in world news is probably familiar with the television network al-Jazeera. It has offices in 80 countries globally, but few people know that it was founded here in the ninety-sixth year.

The spirit of Doha currently lies in preparing for the main event – the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

An Arab country has never received the right to host a championship around it, so this is a big deal for Qatar’s prestige and fame.

The city is actively building stadiums, and it is to be expected from Doha for the first time in history, the championship will be held in November-December in Qatar. Car Rental Companies In Doha will be providing its best service to tourists and locals alike for the world cup.

It is scheduled to be significantly adjusted to Qatar’s climatic features in summer. The heat reaches plus 50; therefore, November and December is the proper time to overcome fat Qataris pledged to equip odeon and cooling systems air support.
